ABOUT

Club Safe, an initiative of Clubs SA, was established in 2006 to provide support to clubs with gaming machines and to maintain gaming as a safe and enjoyable activity for all patrons.

 

Club Safe is a not-for-profit company managed by an independent Board, an Executive Officer and two Club Safe Officers. The Executive Officer is Peter Apostolopoulos and the Club Safe Officers are Tracey Cochrane and Giselle Berriman.

WHAT IS PROBLEM GAMBLING?

Problem Gambling can develop quickly or over long periods of time.  Anyone can become a problem gambler.

Club Safe promotes and endorses responsible gambling, and actively provides tools for the Club industry, supporting staff in identifying and managing the occurrence of problem gambling in their venues.

Peter became CEO in September 2023. With over a decade of management, financial, hospitality and tourism experience, he is an invaluable inclusion to the Club Safe team. Peter has close links to the Club industry having been heavily involved at the South Adelaide Football Club and also through his voluntary work with various community organisations. Most importantly however, Peter is a genuine and passionate person who has the best interests of Clubs at heart.

GISELLE BERRIMAN

Giselle has been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years, firstly at the Casino and later as a Gaming Manager and Club Manager. She is a qualified trainer and has been delivering training in hospitality and gaming for the many years. Giselle joined Club Safe in 2006 and assists South Australian gaming clubs and their staff with responsible gambling strategies, staff training, compliance and reporting under our gambling codes of practice.

TRACEY COCHRANE

Tracey has worked in the gaming industry since Electronic Gaming machines were first introduced to South Australia in 1994 including managing two large SANFL Clubs. Tracey has been with Club Safe since 2006 promoting and developing responsible gambling practices, including staff training in the early identification of problematic gambling behaviour and assisting clubs to comply with government gaming legislation and regulation.

CAMERON TAYLOR

PRESIDENT

Cameron is a passionate Club Industry representative with over 30 years Hospitality Industry experience.  He commenced working as General Manager of the Para Hills Community Club in 1996 and continues to operate this multiple award winning venue today.  As President of Club Safe he understand the social & community benefit of Club culture and the enormous social benefit the industry provides.

SHANE BARTON-ANCLIFFE

Shane has over 20 years experience in the Club Industry, with his recent role as Venue Manager at the Murray Bridge Community Club commencing in 2004. Shane is a passionate advocate for the Club Industry in South Australia.

HARRY BOURLOTOS

BOARD MEMBER

Harry has been the General Manager of the Independent Gaming Corporation Ltd for 25 years and holds many qualifications including Bachelor of Economics Degree, Graduate Diploma in Accounting, Post Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis and is a Certified Public Accountant.

DEE SLADE

Dee shares her experience as the Training Coordinator for Club & Hospitality Training Services where she will provide the Club industry with the support and training needs it requires.
